Thoughts on Man City :

Man City looked rusty in their play despite the good preseason they had. The inclusion of Haaland too didn’t have any significant impact and it was quite obvious since he didn’t have any reasonable preseason, to begin with. He was not included in the build-up play of Man City and was left hanging by his teammates. Perhaps more training sessions would bring a change in this approach since Haaland has always been a pure striker and it will quite take some to play Pep’s brand of football.

 Thoughts on Liverpool :

The switch-up play was the highlight of Liverpool’s game plan today which is so often the case and a potential game plan to be hard against Man City. Thiago, Trent and Salah ( Robertson to an extent ) were the ones who were pulling the strings today. Salah’s sustenance as Liverpool’s creator from last season prevailed today too as he continued his form of being a key provider. Darvin Nunez also had a key impact coming from the bench as he had direct contributions in the second and third Goal for Liverpool FC
